The red carpet welcomes the crowd to the DeRomo’s Third Anniversary Italian Feast at Promenade at Bonita Bay.

The DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant 3rd Anniversary Italian Feast was a success! Approximately 1,500 people attended the celebration at the Promenade at Bonita Bay. The restaurant anniversary event marks the start of the tourist season in the region. The feast celebrates Italian American Heritage Month and is reminiscent of the San Gennaro Feast in the Little Italy community of New York City.

A Feast for the Masses

Guests arriving at the Promenade entered the big tent with a red carpet welcome. Once in the tent, everyone was served an assortment of Italian favorites. The feast included pizza, stromboli, fried ravioli, fresh pasta salad, and more than 30 other items. Desserts included biscotti, Italian cookies, cannoli and fresh zeppoles. Crowd favorites were the seafood entrees and desserts.

In addition to the great food, everyone was able to enjoy great entertainment and other festivities during the feast.

DeRomo’s owner Francis J. Cuomo, together with his staff of approximately 200, work hard each year to create the authentic Italian dishes and bring the event to life for all to enjoy. Cuomo said his goal is to bring everyone together and what better way to do that than through food!

Carlo Carlo De Antonis, as seen on America’s Got Talent, helped entertain the crowd during the DeRomo’s Italian Feast.

Let the Party Fun Begin

Entertaining the crowd this year was Carlo De Antonis, as seen on America’s Got Talent, along with local crooner Joey Fiato, a favorite at the Center Bar. Additional entertainment included Uptown Express with hits from the 1950s. There was also a dance demonstration by Enchanted Ballroom with a studio at the Promenade.

The Promenade Fashion Show, featuring apparel and accessories from many of the boutiques and unique shops is a highlight of the day. Items showcased in the fashion show are perfect examples of what shoppers will find at Promenade shops to update their wardrobes for the season.

Retailers like Well Read Boutique and Jami’s Boutique each showcased four different outfits for the season during the fashion show. Others included To The Moon, Children’s Couture, Coastal Outfitters, Evelyn & Arthur, and Marc Joseph New York Shoes.

Many of the Promenade merchants also highlighted special sales during the event.

The Promenade Is the Place to Be

The Italian Feast is one of the largest events the Promenade hosts each year. The event kicks off the “season” in Southwest Florida. This is the time of the year when The Promenade extends hours during the week 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. And the event calendar for the center is busy with activities scheduled nearly every weekend. Likewise, The Center Bar adds Wednesday evening entertainment. Come for dinner on Wednesday through Sunday evening and plan to enjoy live performers at The Center Bar.

Discover the Promenade

Events like the DeRomo’s Italian Feast help bring people to the Promenade who are not familiar with the property. During events like the Italian Feast, other merchants are able to showcase their shops and benefit from the increased activity in the center.

“We often have people tell us they didn’t know all this was back here,” said Nicole Panio, Marketing & PR Coordinator for the Promenade at Bonita Bay.

Panio adds that while a lot of traffic passes the center daily, many are not aware that the Promenade is a shopping center, “so bringing in guests in for events like this opens their eyes to it all.”

So then events such as the Italian Feast hosted by DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant is an example of the quality of events scheduled at the Promenade throughout the year.
