Michigan State University Mascot “Sparty” Appearing in SW Florida
To celebrate its recognition recently as an official chapter of the Michigan State University Alumni Association, the MSU Alumni Club of Southwest Florida will be co-sponsoring a “tailgate party” with The Promenade at Bonita Bay, Sunday, February 15th from 1 – 4 p.m. The party will include a special appearance by “Sparty,” the University’s popular mascot.
The event will be a great opportunity to meet and have pictures taken with Sparty, along with enjoying music and registering for prizes.
According to his official MSU web page, “Sparty is a three time national champion mascot competing at the Universal Cheer Association Nationals Competition in Orlando, Florida. He also participates in events across the country including the NCAA Hall of Champions: Mascot Mania.”
Sparty the Spartan is Michigan State University’s fearless and loveable mascot, a figure known throughout the state of Michigan and recognized across the nation as well. Sparty is the heart of Michigan State, forever supporting its teams, bringing smiles to young and old and continually uplifting all who meet him. Sparty is big and strong, garnering the honor of being voted “Buffest Mascot” by Muscle and Fitness Magazine. Despite his size, strength and many accomplishments, Sparty is always available to please any of Michigan State’s fans with a hug or friendly high-five.
You can find Sparty at almost any event taking place on campus and he appears in quite a few places beyond the friendly confines of East Lansing. He does weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs, parades, alumni functions, charity events, public showings, commercials and all major sporting events.
